Bay City Public Schools: Bookend Lessons

BCPS asked ClearRiver to illustrate how Bookend Lessons make a difference in BCPS classrooms and play a pivotal role in their pursuit of Deeper Learning by exploring the transformative power of Bookend Lessons. We decided to showcase educators and leaders from Bay City who share their firsthand experiences and the impactful changes occurring in classrooms across the district.

A Bookend Lesson isn't just a teaching strategy; it's a powerful framework designed to elevate students' learning experiences by seamlessly integrating Learning Outcomes and Content Knowledge within a single class period. This innovative approach begins and ends (hence 'bookends') with students evaluating their skills against a detailed rubric, setting personal goals for growth, engaging in student-centered activities, and then reflecting on their achievements to foster self-improvement.
